The Friday Coffee speaker is Tim Culver, who will discuss the recent loss of local conservative talk radio across the state.
Culver is the former Program and Operations Manager snd On-Air Personality “Tim Collins” at WBCK in Battle Creek. For the past three years he’s been the Legislative Aide/Constituent Services/District Director for Michigan Speaker of the House State Representative Matt Hall.
Culver will discuss the recent loss of many local conservative talk radio programs in Michigan. This week four radio stations changed from conservative talk radio to sports talk.
This decision by Townsquare Media affects four radio stations which hosted conservative talk radio: WKMI (AM 1360) in Kalamazoo; WBCK (FM 95.3 in Battle Creek); WJIM (1240 AM in Lansing); and WJRW (1340 AM in Grand Rapids.
For many years these local stations hosted talk radio. “Renk” (David Renkiewicz) led conservative talk for more than dozen years on WBCK and WKMI. Steve Gruber hosted a state-wide syndicated conservative talk show for 13 years, based out of Lansing radio station WJIM. Michael Patrick Shiels’ syndicated morning talk show (from WJIM) will move to afternoons.
Culver will explain why Michigan lost many local conservative talk radio stations.
Join us Friday at 9 am for an informative meeting. Coffee and pastries provided.
Our office is in the Trestlebridge Office Center, 5250 Lovers Lane in Portage (across from Loy Norrix High School, south of Kilgore Road).
