Cameron Brown, President of the Kalamazoo Abraham Lincoln Institute, is the KGOP Friday Coffee speaker.
He will discuss the August 27 unveiling ceremony of the NEW historic marker in Bronson Park, commemorating Lincoln's August 1856 speech in the park.
The original historical marker shown will be retired and a new marker unveiled next to the Lincoln statue. Come to the park and find out what the new marker says and why. The marker unveiling will take place from 6:00-7:30 pm. Ice cream and flags for the kids will be provided.

Jevert served 30 years with Youth for Christ - locally, nationally and internationally. He's an Elder at Gracespring Bible Church and a past board member with Park Village Pines, Alternatives of Kalamazoo and Youth for Christ/USA.
He is a graduate of Portage Northern High School and Western Michigan University. Jevert is blessed to be married to Debra for 46 years; they have three married daughters and seven grandchildren - all who live in the area.

New Lincoln Historic Marker Unveiled at August 27 Event
All are invited to the unveiling ceremony for the new Abraham Lincoln historic marker on August 27 at 6 pm in Bronson Park.
The original historic marker is being replaced with new and additional information about Lincoln’s Kalamazoo speech on August 27, 1856. The new marker will be placed near the Lincoln statue, which was installed in 2023.
Free ice cream and bottled water. Music provided by the Western Michigan Brass.
